Disability Bill One Step Closer to Enactment

House Passes with a Vote of 412 to 9

WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) today released the following statement upon the House of Representatives passing H.R. 1180, the House version of the Senate Finance Committee's disability bill, co-authored by Senator Roth. The bill passed the House with a vote of 412 to 9.

"The passage of H.R. 1180 by the House moves us one step closer to helping millions of Americans. Although the bill passed by the House does not include all the provisions in our bill, I am confident we will be able to work these differences out during the conference process.

"We can not wait any longer to help Americans with disabilities move toward independence."
