Wyden Statement on Being Named to Conference Committee on Republican Tax Plan

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued the following statement after being named to the conference committee on the Republican tax plan:

“The Republican track record shows that this will be a conference in name only while the real tax plan details are hammered out in secret without any Democratic input,” said Wyden. “Crafty lobbyists moved in the dark of night last week to stuff corporate goodies into Senate Republicans’ tax bill. This conference creates yet another opportunity for K Street to drive down taxes for wealthy clients at the expense of hardworking Americans.”

“The American people deserve to know what’s in this tax bill, which is why I’m going to keep shedding light on the irresponsible policies being rushed through Congress that shower corporations with tax cuts and will ultimately increase taxes on over half of the middle class.”
