Crapo Welcomes New Finance Committee Members
Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) today welcomed Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) and other members to the Committee for the 119th Congress.
“In the 119th Congress, the Finance Committee will play a critical role in driving a strong economic, trade and health policy agenda,” said Crapo. “Roger brings a wealth of necessary experience to aid in the Committee’s efforts to expand access to affordable, quality health care, promote pro-growth tax policy and advance a strong trade agenda. He will provide Kansans with an important voice as the Committee develops policies and exercises oversight on the many issues that affect all Americans.
“I also welcome Senators Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), Tina Smith (D-Minnesota), Ben Ray Luján (D-New Mexico), Raphael Warnock (D-Georgia) and Peter Welch (D-Vermont) to the Committee. I look forward to working with all members of the Committee on an agenda that creates opportunities for American families and job creators.”
The Finance Committee has the largest jurisdiction of any congressional committee, overseeing over 50 percent of the nation’s budget, including America’s entitlement programs, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, all tax policy, international trade, several welfare programs and the nation’s debt.
