Wyden Hails Senate Passage of Legislation to Reauthorize & Modernize Title IV-B to Better Support Children and Families in America

Washington, D.C. – Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today celebrated Senate passage of H.R. 9076, the bipartisan Supporting America’s Children and Families Act. The bill now heads to the president’s desk for signature.

Wyden released the following statement:

“Title IV-B is a key source of federal support for state child welfare systems, helping to protect children from maltreatment, helping families in crisis, reunifying families who experience foster care, investing in prevention, and supporting foster, kinship, and adoptive families. Passage of this bill will mean more dollars to support child welfare agencies in this essential work, on top of new and innovative ways to invest in some of our most vulnerable children.

“It’s not every day a bill has such bipartisan support, and I want to commend the leadership of our Ways & Means colleagues for their work to put this package together and to Senators Bennet and Cornyn for championing it in the Senate.”
