Senate Finance Committee Approves ''The Balanced Budget Act of 1999''
WASHINGTON -- By a voice vote, the Senate Finance Committee today gave bipartisan approval to an original bill, "The Balanced Budget Adjustment Act of 1999," that addresses adjustments to the unintended consequences of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.
"I am pleased the Committee has reported out these critically important adjustments to the Medicare program. I am hopeful the full Senate will act quickly to pass this legislation," said Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE).
