Roth Statement on Chafee

WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) today released the following statement on the death of Senator John Chafee (R-RI):

"I was deeply saddened today to hear of John Chafee's death. I have known John for many years. He was a man of great integrity and served Rhode Island with distinction. He was one of the Finance Committee's top experts in health care, and a tireless advocate for the underprivileged. I know that I speak for all members of the Finance Committee when I say that his presence and contributions will be greatly missed."
