Roth, Moynihan Urge that Medicare Legislation Take Top Priority on Senate Floor Schedule
WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) and Ranking Democratic member Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) today urged Majority Leader Lott and Minority Leader Tom Daschle to have the Senate take up the "Medicare, Medicaid and S-CHIP Adjustment Act of 1999" for immediate floor action.
"Given the widespread and bipartisan support for this legislation, we request that you schedule it for consideration on the Senate floor as soon as possible," Chairman Roth and Senator Moynihan stated in a letter to the leaders.
This legislation, favorably reported out of the Senate Finance Committee on October 21, 1999, provides adjustment to Medicare, Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance program.
The Senate Finance Committee report is available on the website.
