Roth and Moynihan Press for Confirmation of the IRS Oversight Board
WASHINGTON -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman William V. Roth, Jr. (R-DE) and Ranking Democrat Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) today asked Majority Leader Lott and Minority Leader Daschle for their help in "breaking the roadblock delaying the confirmation of the seven nominees to the IRS Oversight Board."
"IRS reform is a national priority that should be taken seriously. Senate confirmation of the nominations to the Oversight Board is long overdue. No further time should be lost to confirm these seven nominees," Roth and Moynihan said in a letter to the leaders.
On March 2, 2000, the Senate Finance Committee favorably reported the nominations of the following individuals to the IRS Oversight Board:
• Mr. George L. Farr
• Mr. Charles L. Kolbe
• Ms. Nancy Killefer
• Mr. Larry R. Levitan
• Mr. Steve H. Nickles
• Mr. Robert Tobias
• Ms. Karen Hastie Williams
