Hatch to Hold Hearing on CMS Administrator Nomination

WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) will convene a hearing on Thursday, February 16, 2017, to consider the nomination of Seema Verma to be the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The hearing will take place at 10:00 a.m. in Room 215 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.

“With her extensive background and depth of experience in health policy, Seema Verma is immensely qualified to serve as the next CMS Administrator,” Hatch said. “American middle-class families continue to struggle under the burdens of Obamacare, and as we take steps toward repeal and replacement of the law with smart patient-centered reforms, it is extremely important to have qualified leadership in place. Similarly, ensuring we have leadership to oversee the administration of the Medicare and Medicaid programs while working with Congress to ensure their solvency for future generations is equally as important.  I look forward to having her before the Committee to further examine her numerous qualifications to lead the agency.”
