Wyden Statement on Announcement of Resolution of US-EU Steel Dispute

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., issued the following statement on an announcement that the U.S. and EU will end their steel trade dispute and focus on combatting China’s trade cheating:

“Working together, the U.S. and EU can successfully fight back against China’s predatory economic policies and ensure American workers succeed. I’m encouraged that this announcement takes significant steps to resolve the tariffs on European steel and aluminum and to begin a new phase of substantial cooperation on overcapacity, climate, and other issues facing the steel and aluminum industries. Continuing to strengthen the US-EU relationship is essential to combat China’s efforts to take over entire industries and leave American workers in the lurch.”
