Senators to Hold Press Conference to Discuss Cuba Agricultural Trade Policy

Senators Craig, Baucus, Roberts, and Lugar Join To Introduce Bill to Ease Restrictions on the Sale of Agricultural Products to Cuba

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) A group of bi-partisan Senators will hold a press conference on
Wednesday, February 9, at 2:00 P.M. to address the issue of agricultural trade with Cuba.
U.S. Senators Larry Craig (R-Idaho), Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Pat Roberts (R-Kan.),
Richard Lugar (R-Ind.), and others, will introduce comprehensive legislation this Wednesday
easing a number of restrictions on agricultural trade with Cuba. In December, the Senators
criticized proposed Treasury Department regulations that will disrupt current agricultural sales
from the United States to Cuba. Baucus, the ranking Democrat on the Finance Committee,
threatened to block Treasury Department confirmations until the issue was resolved.
