Hatch Statement on FAA Reauthorization Deal
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Ranking Member of the Senate Finance Committee, today issued the following statement on a compromise to extend the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) operating authority into September:
“Today, common sense prevailed in Washington. Senate Democrats rightly pushed past partisan politics and agreed to a reasonable resolution to restore funding for the FAA and put 74,000 workers back to work. When it came down to it, losing nearly $30 million per day to protect $16.5 million in subsidies just didn’t make sense. Now it’s time for Congress to get down to work and resolve its differences, including excessive favors for big labor in the long-term FAA reauthorization.”
