Four Years Later: What American Families & Job Creators Are Saying About Obamacare

“Fear and uncertainty,” “immediate confusion,” “premiums will double,” “re-evaluating jobs,” and “fewer choices” is how American families, job creators, and health care experts are talking about the President’s signature domestic policy, ObamaCare, which was signed into law nearly four years ago on March 23, 2010.   Take a look:

“The Wake County Public School System is calling Obamacare a potential risk. Two weeks ago, the UNC System told ABC11 that Obamacare has schools across the state re-evaluating 8,500 jobs. (“Some employers concerned about Obamacare's effect on budgets,” (ABC11 WTVD-TV Raleigh-Durham, NC, 03/19/14)

“The Obamacare employer mandate is forcing North Carolina’s public and private employers to weigh their options and cut employee hours to stay afloat.” (“Obamacare Mandate Forcing North Carolina Employers to Cut Hours,” Washington Free Beacon, 03/19/14)

“Cancer patients relieved that they can get insurance coverage because of the new health care law may be disappointed to learn that some the nation's best cancer hospitals are off-limits…’Patients may have fewer choices of doctors and hospitals in some exchange plans than others…’ said Steve Weiss, spokesman for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.” (“Under Obamacare, some top cancer centers off-limits”, CBS News.com, 03/19/14)

“Health industry officials say ObamaCare-related premiums will double in some parts of the country, countering claims recently made by the administration.” (“O-Care premiums to skyrocket,” The Hill, 03/19/14)

“…the Affordable Care Act is already causing fear and uncertainty for all types of small enterprises.” (“Business Owners Still Confused, Worried About ACA,” FOXBusiness, 03/18/14)

“‘Premiums are increasing primarily because of the new required provisions for 2014 Affordable Care Act compliant plans, including guaranteed issue, essential health benefits, modified community rating and minimum actuarial values,’ said Brian Mast, spokesman for eHealthInsurance.” (“Health insurance premiums up 39% to 56% under Obamacare, reach $2,604 a month in California”, Washington Examiner, 03/17/14)

“‘I signed up for United Healthcare specifically because of the doctors I needed that were ‘in network’ – something I went to great lengths to verify before signing up,’ she [Annette Frey ] told FoxNews.com. But Frey says there was almost immediate confusion over which doctors and hospitals were actually participating in the plan. The lists of providers and services, she says, weren’t matching up.(“New York cancer survivor stuck in ObamaCare mess over doctor confusion.” Fox News, 03/15/14)
