Crapo Statement on Announcement of Intent to Nominate Michael Faulkender to Serve as Deputy Treasury Secretary

Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), the lead Republican of the Senate Finance Committee, which oversees the Treasury Department, issued the following statement after President-elect Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Dr. Michael Faulkender to serve as its Deputy Secretary:

“The Deputy Treasury Secretary will play a central role to advance meaningful policies that bolster our economic strength.  Michael Faulkender’s impressive career in academia and economics, combined with his prior experience as the Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at Treasury, will serve him well in this critical role.  I look forward to considering his nomination before the Committee.”
