Crapo Announces Finance Committee Staff for the 118th Congress
Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) has announced the Republican staff members of the Committee for the 118th Congress.
“These talented individuals will play a critical role in developing policies and exercising strong oversight on so many issues that broadly impact the lives of every American,” said Crapo. “From tackling our national debt and boosting the economy through pro-growth tax reform, to expanding access to affordable, quality health care and breaking down barriers to trade, their wealth of experience and expertise will be an invaluable asset to me and the Committee.”
Economics
Becky Cole – Chief Economist
Lincoln Foran – Policy Advisor
The team will cover issues including, but not limited to, the debt limit; unemployment insurance; Social Security; and oversight of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and Social Security Administration. It also provides economic advice across the Committee’s jurisdiction.

The team will cover issues including, but not limited to, domestic and international tax policy; pensions and retirement tax policy; and tax administration. The team will also exercise strong oversight of the U.S. Department of the Treasury and its sub-agencies.

The Committee’s jurisdiction includes health programs under the Social Security Act, including Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and other health and human services programs financed by a specific tax or trust fund. It also includes oversight of the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of the Treasury.

The Committee’s jurisdiction includes matters including, but not limited to, customs, collection districts, and ports of entry and delivery; reciprocal trade agreements; tariff and import quotas, and related matters thereto; the transportation of dutiable goods; and oversight of agencies within the Committee’s purview.
Oversight
John O’Hara will lead oversight efforts on issues in the Finance Committee’s jurisdiction.
