Baucus Hires William Wynne As Health Counsel For Senate Finance Committee
Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.), Ranking Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, today announced that he has hired William Wynne as Health Counsel on the Senate Finance Committee Health and Welfare Team. Wynne is currently an Associate in the Health Policy group at Patton Boggs, LLP in Washington, D.C.
“Billy’s extensive knowledge of the Medicare system will be a great asset as we move forward and work to strengthen this program,” said Baucus. “Billy’s background exemplifies a dedication to assisting others, which is a crucial point of view to take when working in such vital areas as health care policy.”
Wynne’s career to date has focused on coverage and reimbursement under Medicare Parts A and B, the Medicare Part D drug benefit, Medicare Advantage, pay-for performance and competitive bidding. He acted as an advisor on Medicare and Medicaid regulation to a wide variety of companies and coalitions. Wynne is also a former employee of the Department of Justice in the Civil Rights Division. From 1999 to 2001, he worked as a Mission Coordinator at Operation Smile, Inc., an international health care non-profit dedicated to providing reconstructive surgery to children born with facial deformities in developing countries around the world.
A native of Norfolk, VA, Wynne has a law degree from the University of Virginia and a A.B. in Government from Dartmouth College.
