Baucus Comments On Chairman Greenspan’s Testimony Before the Banking Committee Today

I am encouraged by Chairman Greenspan’s comments today urging deliberation and stressing Congress to take the deficit and potential actions with Iraq fully into account before moving forward with the President’s large tax proposal. Greenspan’s testimony further highlights the need for all of Congress and the Administration to work together and focus on responsible, common sense steps that will encourage investment in the economy, promote growth, and not burden future generations with large deficits.
