Baucus Brings Montanan Will Larson onto Finance Committee Team
Billings native will assist with oversight, economic and Social Security policy
Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Max Baucus (D-Mont.) today announced that he has hired Will Larson as a research assistant for oversight, economics and Social Security on the Democratic staff of the Senate Finance Committee. Larson, a Montana native and a 2001 graduate of Billings Senior High School, has served as an intern for Baucus on the Committee since September.
“Will has brought economic expertise and Montana sensibility to his work for the Finance Committee,” said Baucus. “He will continue to be a great asset as we aim to improve government accountability, keep America on a sound fiscal footing and maintain vital programs like Social Security for all our citizens.”
Larson graduated this year from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., with a degree in economics. He also studied economics at St. Andrews University in Scotland, and is now working toward his Ph.D. in economics at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. As a Finance Committee intern this year he worked to forecast the impact of hurricanes on gas prices. He is also assisting with Baucus’s ongoing work to strengthen America’s global competitiveness – our country’s ability to maintain economic leadership in the world and keep good-paying jobs available here at home.
Larson is the son of Karen and Gene Jarussi of Billings and of Bill and Erica Larson of Bozeman.
