Finance Committee to Convene Next Hearing to Discuss Youth Mental Health Care
WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-Ore., will convene a hearing on Tuesday, February 15th to continue discussing challenges facing young people and families related to youth mental health care. The hearing, titled “Protecting Youth Mental Health: Part II - Identifying and Addressing Barriers to Care,” will be held virtually.
Earlier today, the Finance Committee held its first hearing on youth mental health care with U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy. Wyden also announced the committee’s plans for the months, including bipartisan co-chairs for five focus areas.
The witnesses at next Tuesday’s hearing will be:

- Sharon Hoover, PhD, Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Co-Director of the National Center for School Mental Health, Baltimore, MD
- Jodie L. Lubarsky, MA, LCMHC, Vice President of Clinical Operations, Youth and Family Services at Seacoast Mental Health Center, Portsmouth, NH
