Wyden Welcomes Patricio Gonzalez to Finance Oversight Team

Washington, D.C. – Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today welcomed Patricio Gonzalez to the Senate Finance Committee Majority staff as a Senior Investigator on the oversight team.

“I’m thrilled that Patricio has joined the Finance Committee staff. Patricio has nearly a decade of Capitol Hill experience, and has been involved in numerous high-profile investigations,” Wyden said. “There are a number of investigations and areas of oversight from the Trump administration that are continuing, ranging from Turkey and Halkbank to and the politicization of FinCen, as well as new areas of inquiry like the potential involvement of tax-exempt nonprofit organizations in inciting the Capitol insurrection. Patricio is a critical addition to the team working to advance these investigations.”

Gonzalez comes to the Finance Committee after eight years working for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., most recently as an advisor for oversight and investigations. In that role he served as a counselor to Leader Schumer and the Democratic Caucus on a wide range of investigations into the executive branch and other entities, including matters related to sanctions and illicit finance, the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and U.S. policy towards China and Russia. He has also served as a policy advisor for the Senate Democratic Policy Committee, a legislative aide in Leader Schumer’s personal office, and an aide to House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
