Nomination of Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley Marks Important Step Towards Fully Operational Social Security Administration
Washington, D.C. – Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued a statement after President Biden announced the nomination of Governor Martin O’Malley to be commissioner of the Social Security Administration.
“Social Security needs a confirmed commissioner in order to ensure Americans are receiving the best service possible for their earned Social Security benefits,” Wyden said. “Governor O’Malley is a proven leader with experience running a large organization that millions of families count on. I look forward to moving this nomination through the Finance Committee as soon as possible.”
