Wyden Statement on Debt Ceiling Projection

Washington, D.C. — Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued the following statement on the Bipartisan Policy Center’s new projection that the U.S. could default on its debt as soon as July:

“The economic agenda for Trump and Republicans is about running up the debt and inflicting pain on working families to make billionaires like Elon Musk even wealthier. Democrats should not make their job any easier by helping them raise the debt ceiling.”
