Wyden Announces Finance Committee Hearing on Consolidation and Corporate Ownership in Health Care
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Finance Committee Chair Ron Wyden, D-Ore., will convene a committee hearing on Thursday, June 8, 2023 titled “Consolidation and Corporate Ownership in Health Care: Trends and Impacts on Access, Quality, and Costs.” The hearing will take place at 10:00 a.m. in Room 215 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
The witnesses at Thursday’s hearing will be:
- Zack Cooper, PhD, Associate Professor of Public Health and Associate Professor of Economics, Yale University
- Shawn Martin, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, American Academy of Family Physicians
- Karen Joynt Maddox, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Medicine, Washington University in St. Louis
- Chris Thomas, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer, Community Hospital
- Caroline Pearson, Executive Director, Peterson Center on Healthcare
