Hatch, Wyden Applaud Committee Passage of Bipartisan Health Bills
WASHINGTON – Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) today applauded Committee passage of a number of bipartisan health bills. With the passage of today’s 12 bills, the Finance Committee has processed a total of 36 bipartisan bills since the beginning of the 114th Congress.
“I am immensely pleased members of the Finance Committee continue to work together to advance important initiatives on a bipartisan basis,” Hatch said. “The passage of today’s bills advances legislative priorities of every member of the Committee designed to benefit American families and their health while protecting taxpayers. There is much more work that needs to be done on healthcare policy, and I am hopeful this markup serves as a foundation for bipartisan consensus moving forward.”
“The legislation reported by the Finance Committee today is the product of a lot of hard, bipartisan work by many members of the Committee, and it shows that there’s real momentum behind making smart policy improvements in health care,” Wyden said. “This set of bills makes a number of targeted improvements that will benefit patients, health care providers, and others in a number of key areas as a part of the Committee’s continued effort to improve Medicare, Medicaid, and the larger health care system in a bipartisan way.”
