Hatch Welcomes Budget Resolution to Advance Tax Reform

Utah Senator Says, “…the Senate has taken a critical first step to advance a tax overhaul to turn our nation’s economic tide.”

WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) released the following statement today regarding the Senate Budget Committee’s Fiscal Year 2018 Budget Resolution

“With this budget, the Senate has taken a critical first step to advance a tax overhaul to turn our nation’s economic tide. As the resolution moves through the Budget Committee next week, I’m confident Chairman Enzi and his committee members will work to preserve the Finance Committee’s reconciliation instructions to ensure we have the tools and flexibility we need to accomplish our shared goal of delivering strong, pro-growth tax reform to the American people.”

Background: The Senate budget provides a $1.5 trillion instruction to the Finance Committee. This instruction will give the committee and the entire Congress the headroom needed to produce comprehensive tax reform that will spur economic growth, make the United States more competitive and allow working families to save more of their hard earned dollars.
