Hatch Announces Treasury Nominations Markup

WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) announced that the committee will convene a markup on the nominations of Justin Muzinich to be Deputy Secretary of the Treasury and Michael Desmond to be Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and an Assistant General Counsel in the Department of the Treasury. The markup will occur on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 9:30 a.m. in 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building.

The committee will markup the following nominees:

• Justin Muzinich, to be Deputy Secretary of the Treasury

• Michael Desmond, to be Chief Counsel for the IRS and an Assistant General Counsel in the Department of the Treasury
