Hatch Announces Executive Session to Consider HHS Secretary Nominee

WASHINGTON – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) today announced the Committee will mark up the nomination of Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) to serve as Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary in an executive session on Tuesday, January 31, in Room 215 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building at 10 a.m.

“There’s no question Dr. Price has the experience, fortitude, and judgement needed to lead HHS,” Hatch said. “At a time when patients need to be at the center of healthcare more than ever, Dr. Price will be an asset to Congress as we look to right the many wrongs of Obamacare and return decisions back to patients and families. Throughout his confirmation hearing he was expressively clear he is committed to working with both parties during his tenure, and I look forward to advancing his nomination through the Committee for full Senate consideration.”
