This hearing is convened to consider four presidential nominations to the U.S. Departmentof the Treasury. First I want to congratulate the nominees and commend them for the devotion eachhas shown to public service. All four nominees will appear on a single panel. Today we will hearfrom Ambassador Robert Kimmitt, The Honorable Randal Quarles, The Honorable Sandra Pack, andMr. Kevin Fromer.

Ambassador Robert Kimmitt, who is nominated to be Deputy Secretary of the Treasury, hasalready had a very distinguished career that has included an appointment as the AmericanAmbassador to Germany along with positions in the private sector.

Our next nominee is Randal Quarles, who has been nominated to be Under Secretary forDomestic Finance. Currently serving as the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs, Mr. Quarlespreviously served as the U.S. Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund and haspartnered his public service with an extensive private sector experience.

Our third nominee is Sandra Pack, nominated to the position of Assistant Secretary forManagement. A Certified Public Accountant, Ms. Pack previously served as Assistant Secretary forFinancial Management & Comptroller of the U.S. Army.

The last nominee we will hear from today is Kevin Fromer, nominated to the position ofDeputy Under Secretary for Legislative Affairs. Mr. Fromer has capped a long and distinguishedcareer on Capitol Hill with his current appointment as Assistant to the Speaker for Policy, Budgetand Appropriations in Speaker Hastert’s office
