Grassley Announces Charitable Governance Roundtable, Solicits White Papers for Discussion
WASHINGTON – Following up on the June 22 hearing on charitable governance reforms,Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Committee on Finance, with ranking member Sen. MaxBaucus, today announced a roundtable to consider white papers in response to the bipartisan staffdiscussion draft regarding proposed reforms of tax-exempt organizations.
The roundtable will be on Thursday, July 22, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in 215 Dirksen SenateOffice Building. Individuals and organizations interested in participating or attending should contactand provide written submissions to the Finance Committee via charities@finance-rep.senate.gov.Submissions are due by the close of business on Friday, July 16.
“A lot of people in the tax-exempt field have views and expertise they’d like to share withthe committee,” Grassley said. “This roundtable will give them the opportunity to comment on thestaff discussion draft of reforms or anything else on charitable governance.”
The roundtable will be closed to the public and media to encourage maximum participationin the event.
