Committee Releases Comments on Corporate Tax Shelter Draft

WASHINGTON -- The Senate Finance Committee today released the comments it has received on a bipartisan staff discussion draft of a proposal to curtail corporate tax shelters.

Comments were received from a variety of groups, including law firms, accounting firms and business organizations.

The bipartisan Committee staff will continue to refine the proposal, based on the comments received and more comments that are anticipated in the coming weeks. The final version of the legislation may be included in the Senate's version of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights 2000.
