Committed to Pro-Growth Tax Reform
More than 70,000 pages in length, the current tax code is a labyrinth of red tape that stifles growth, prevents job creation, and makes it harder for middle-class American families to make ends meet.
Congress and the administration have been working together to examine effective ways to revamp the tax code and create a system that’s fairer, simpler and more balanced for all Americans.
Indeed, we all agree: The time to reform our broken tax code is now. And, we all understand a pro-growth tax plan will move the U.S. economy forward, helping to produce better jobs and bigger paychecks for the American people.
As Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch recently noted, Republicans are unified: “On tax reform, Republicans in the Senate, the House and the White House are largely in agreement. In fact, I’d say that we agree on roughly 80 percent of the key issues.”
And, that’s why Washington is working to, as Hatch says, “...find the proverbial ‘sweet spot’ that will maximize the growth potential of the final package without jeopardizing its prospects for passage.”
Bottom Line: Congress and the administration are working to unite behind a plan that will provide responsible tax relief for the middle class, bring down tax rates across the board, and enhance America’s competitiveness around the globe.
