WASHINGTON– Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) today announced Lindsey Held has joined the Senate Finance Committee as Senior Advisor for Communications. Held joins the Committee from the business software company SAP where she most recently served as Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs.
“Lindsey comes to Capitol Hill from Silicon Valley with deep expertise in communications strategy, along with first-hand experience in the business community navigating the critical issues we are tackling today,” Senator Baucus said. “I’m confident her perspective will further strengthen our efforts to drive smart policy that will help make us more competitive as a nation.”
Held served numerous leadership roles in her tenure at SAP including the global lead for government affairs where she orchestrated efforts across diverse regions including Europe and Asia. She also served as the executive director of media relations. Before joining SAP, Held worked for Fleishman-Hillard International Communications in their technology and public affairs practice. Held is a graduate of the University of California, Davis with an MBA from the University of San Francisco.
“I’m thrilled to be working for Senator Baucus and the Committee team as they are committed to pursuing practical and collaborative solutions to critical topics that affect all Americans,” Held said.
Further strengthening the Committee’s communications team, Senator Baucus also announced two promotions. Ryan Carey, a three year veteran of the Committee, will now serve as Press Secretary and Speechwriter. Carey previously worked for Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY).
