Finance Chairman Says Nominees Will Help Shape Critical Health and Economic Policies

Washington, DCAt a Senate Finance Committee hearing today, Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) urged his fellow committee members to approve the nominations of William Schultz for General Counsel of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Christopher Meade for General Counsel of the Department of the Treasury.  Senator Baucus said both nominees will play important roles helping form the nation's health and economic policies and implementing laws.

"William Schultz and Christopher Meade have extensive records that prove they're qualified to be excellent General Counsels.  They have important roles to play shaping health and economic policy," Senator Baucus said.  "The administration will benefit from the knowledge, experience and perspective both nominees possess."
