Baucus, Hatch Announce Planned Subcommittee Assignments

Finance Committee Will Convene an Executive Session to Approve Committee Rules, Slated Subcommittees

Washington, DC – Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Ranking Member Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) today announced plans for the Committee’s six subcommittees for the 112^th Congress. The Finance Committee will convene an Executive Session on Wednesday, February 16, during a previously scheduled 10:00 a.m. hearing to vote on committee rules and organization, including the six subcommittees and their members.

Five of the six subcommittees are returning from the previous Congress. They are the Subcommittees on Health Care; Taxation and IRS Oversight; Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure; International Trade, Customs and Global Competitiveness; and Social Security, Pensions and Family Policy. The sixth, Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Growth, is new to this Congress.
